When does a SOFA not encourage couch-potato-ism? Every summer in Lynnfield! Summer of Fun Activities (SOFA) is sponsored by the community and guaranteed to keep your kids active and out of your hair throughout the summer months. The town-owned golf course offers free lessons for resident children. Sports figures throughout history have taken a liking to the town – from Carl Yastremski to Ken Hodge, Nancy Kerrigan to Brad Park, Andy Moog, Rico Petrocelli, and Dwight Evans. The town also has historical significance as part of the Underground Railway and the Revolutionary War although it may be currently more well known for its excellent shops and restaurants at Market Street.
